Recently, I jumped into the podcasting arena with my first show, ‘Tommy Talks’. I wanted to bring my written interviews into the audio world. I enjoy talking to people and highlighting what they do, so I thought it would be an excellent addition to my blog posts and interviews for Addicted Magazine.

Turns out, I loved it so much I wanted to expand it even further into video and audio. I decided to do a second series and call it ‘Prelude to Positivity’ to further highlight the talented people I know and meet but in addition, I want to focus…

Derek Jameson has become a perfect example, to me, of someone who evolves the right way, in the right direction. His music and voice always spoke to me and I’m impressed by his knowledge of health and fitness. When he started to be vocal about his spiritual journey, it made so much sense. His posts, personality, and demeanor always had a tinge of peacefulness to them so I wasn’t surprised at all to find out he was also in the know about meditations, angels, and guides.

I’ve always believed in higher power and that there are entities who guide us…

Kaden James is someone who not only has many gifts, he also has the talent of knowing HOW to share them. I’ve known Kaden for years now, have interacted with him almost daily on social media, and have always found our exchanges positive, uplifting, and important. He wrote a truly wonderful Christmas story last year, ‘All I Have to Give’ (available on Amazon). I think it’s the perfect holiday book to read to your children, have your children read, and to read yourself. It makes a great stocking-stuffer or holiday gift too! We tend to lose sight of the true…

David Hernandez began singing at the young age of six. He was chosen for one of the lead roles for a local theater company, Valley Youth Theater and decided on a career singing and performing after his grandfather took him for the audition. He took vocal coaching and training at Voices, a vocal coaching studio in Arizona. His teacher has said that Hernandez trained “whenever he could afford it” as he wasn’t always financially stable.

When David was growing up, he was a gymnast and won medals in the Grand Canyon Olympics. He’s even tried his hand at acting and…

Ten years ago I found the NOH8 Campaign online and shortly after, I joined Twitter and found out even more plus found more people who were part of the community. I was new to social media but I quickly saw that what Adam Bouska, Jeff Parshley, and the whole team were doing was more than just taking photos. It was a bold statement at a time when marriage equality was non-existent in most places and had been overturned in others.

NOH8 organized a march on Washington and I wasn’t even used to traveling much back then but I knew I…

There are so many things we are dealing with now and so many things we need to shed light on. These issues have, thankfully, been showing up in our art to bring awareness and hopefully let people who are going through them know they aren’t alone. I always say great entertainment does more than simply entertain and I love when there is a touch of social good mingled in with my art.

Daniel’s Husband is a touching, heartwarming, funny, impactful, and sad story that may be all to familiar to many. It deals with what happens when a couple (in…

If you haven’t seen Younger on TV Land, what are you waiting for? Also, if you haven’t watched it or aren’t caught up, I must caution you about spoilers here. The show is in it’s Fifth season currently, has already been picked up for a sixth and has been a hit since day one. TV Land has not only consistently gotten the formula right, they have re-invented it in many ways.

Younger is the story of a woman, Liza (Sutton Foster) who needs to find her way back into the workforce after being married for years and raising a child…

When the original Queer Eye was on, I’m not even sure I was out to anyone yet and social media wasn’t even a thing. The world hadn’t heard of the NOH8 Campaign and same sex marriage wasn’t legal everywhere the United States. The Fab Five consisted of my friend Jai Rodriguez, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley, and Ted Allen. I remember I had a huge crush on both Kyan and Jai and all of these men helped me to come to terms with who I am and that played a part in who I am today.

It was important…

As with most of the television shows I love, Gilmore Girls delivered so many stories, characters and episodes I related to. Lorelai Gilmore shared my fast speaking, coffee loving, quirky, romantically challenged ways and I reveled in the pop culture references! I’m sure I’m going to want to write about many episodes from the original run and from the recent reunion but for this article, I wanted to discus, Season Seven, Episode 13: I’d Rather be in Philadelphia.

In this episode, Richard, the patriarch of the Gilmore family (The amazingly commanding and talented Edward Herrmann) suffers a heart attack which…
